Programs

SMART Schools provides internet-based services and support for K-12 education.

ON-SITE:

This program provides K-12 internet-based courses, administrative support services, and related support, as needed, for students who are attending courses in school. The students we serve need to make up courses and credits, take courses not provided by the school, have special education needs, or are in other unique situations. Costs are based on monthly fees per on-site user for the month, a significant cost benefit for the school.

OFF-SITE:

This program provides K-12 internet-based courses, administrative support services, courseware, computers, and internet services (DSL, modem, etc), as needed, to students who are enrolled, but not physically attending school. Students may be homebound, expelled, suspended, special education, undergoing medical emergencies, ornery, or other special circumstances.  Costs are based on monthly fees per off-site user for the month, a significant cost benefit for the school.

TITLE I-VIII:

SMART Tutoring Lab(tm) programs provide math, reading, and other courses approved by the state Department of Education and Federal Government for students and schools who meet program category requirements.  The SMART Schools programs are designed and contracted to meet the needs of the student and the school. Costs are based on an initial setup fee plus monthly fees per user per month, a flexible cost benefit for the school.

SPECIAL EDUCATION:

This program provides internet-based evaluation testing and courseware as part of the student’s IEP. SMART Schools can also integrate adaptive technologies for special education or special needs students.  Experience shows that a single special education teacher or aide can teach and monitor more special students (up to twice as many) who are using customized, internet-based courses.  Most special education students perform better and learn quicker when using computers. Costs are based on monthly fees per Special Education user for the month, a significant, flexible cost benefit for the school.

VOCATIONAL AND INDUSTRIAL ARTS:

This program provides internet-based, traditional core courses at the vocational or industrial arts site.  This computerized approach allows the school and student to meet these core curriculum requirements in the most efficient manner with positive results. Costs are based on monthly fees per vocational-site user for the month, saving time, transportation, and scheduling problems, a significant cost benefit for the school.

SMARTWEBCAM(tm) COURSES:

Social Sciences, Humanities, and Arts, Teacher led, Live Interactive courses are available via the Internet using a leased SMART Webcam Studio(tm) system which serves up to 12 students and a teacher. System costs are based on a local annual lease and course costs.
